We Missed the Candle Lights in Paris

A Valentine's night that will last forever in your memory starts with a sumptuous candle light dinner in the elegant La Tours d'Argent.  Remember to ask for the window seats to have a perfect view of Notre Dame where Hugo Victor imagined a tale of pure selfless love.

Be prepared to know a bit about Paris before beginning the journey with your loved one across the central isle, Cite.  Do you know how Paris made its way to become the international capital of perfumes?  Unfortunately, it did not start off from a beautiful story.  Far from it, Paris was a very unhygienic city at the time of cultural revolution.  The upper society was proud and arrogant with great social power while the rest of the dwellers

led their live as outcasts.  The lower class were too poor to afford coffins and so corpses were disposed at any possible corner in the city.  No one bothered. Instead of social spending to dispose the remains, huge amount of money were spent to perfect perfumes to cover the intolerable odors surrounding its atmosphere.  Anyway, these were histories.

After dinner, bring your partner across Petit Pont towards Square Viviani.  Petit Pont is the shortest bridge in Paris and is sixteen centuries old.  It had been burned down and rebuilt many times since Lutetia time - qualified itself as the witness to the history of Paris. Nearby the Square is Shakespeare & Co. - one of the literary center in Paris.  It was established by Sylvia Beach in the twenties.  Great literature masters and thinkers had left their footprints in this little bookshop.  Though epic is over, it still preserves its tradition of poetry reading in candle light frequently.  You may caught one session and savors the romantic atmosphere of the time of James Joyce and Paul Satre.
